This 12‑month placement gives you the opportunity to work within the Fuel Route Department
, supporting equipment reliability, plant performance and engineering assurance across electrical, mechanical and C&I systems.

You’ll work in a multi‑discipline team, learn the fundamentals of nuclear safety, and gain experience in operational engineering at a functioning power station. You will also take on real project work that contributes directly to plant reliability, safety systems and departmental improvement activity.

To be considered, applicants must:

• Be on track to achieve (or already hold) at least a 2:2 degree in one of the following:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Control & Instrumentation Engineering
• Have strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills
• Be confident working in a safety‑led, regulated engineering environment
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Have a genuine interest in large‑scale engineering, plant systems and nuclear operations
• Hold the legal right to work in the UK from the placement start date
• Curiosity about plant systems, reliability engineering or operational safety
• Experience with technical analysis, lab work or engineering projects
• A proactive approach to learning and problem solving

• Mentorship from highly experienced electrical, mechanical and C&I engineers
• First‑hand experience working on operational nuclear plant systems
• Training in nuclear safety, engineering assurance and human performance tools
• Cross‑functional exposure to other departments in the power station
