Kent is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Aberdeen Structures Team within our UK Consulting business. Our Aberdeen Structures Team provides a broad range of services across our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. We are the ‘go to’ company for complex problems in design, engineering, integrity management, structural analysis, life extension, and ultimately decommissioning. Our structural teams work on some of the most exciting and varied projects in the offshore sector.

This role provides opportunities to work across our structural offshore services, including integrity, design, analysis and decommissioning. Flexibility is key, with a varied work pipeline across our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden horizons and engage with local clients, while enhancing current skillsets.

• Guideand mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional development.
• Undertake bothassessment of existing offshoreassets andnew design projects,depending on business needs;workwillrangefromhandcalculationstolinearandnon-linearfiniteelementanalysis.
• Collaboratewithcolleaguestoidentify,develop,andimplementnewtechnicalmethodologies.
• Build,communicate,andmaintaineffectiveclientrelationships,includingleadingclientfacingconversationsand delivering presentations of project work.
• Managepersonalcostandtimetargetstodeliveranefficient,high-qualityengineeringservice.
• Prepare clear,concise,high-qualitytechnicalreports.
• Workwithinhighlyexperienced,multi-disciplinaryteamstoexecuteprojectssuccessfully.
• Developtechnicalandprofessionalcapabilitiesinline with Kentcareerpathways.
• Workaspart ofanintegratedteam,ensuringclientinteractionand projectdeliveryfrommultiple locations.

• Engineeringdegreewithhonorsorequivalentin Civil,Mechanical,or Structuralengineering,Naval Architecture,or arelated field.
• Ideally Chartered (ICE, IMechE, IStruct
  
  E etc), or actively working towards chartership.
• Knowledgeofoffshorestructuralengineeringandrelevantoffshoredesigncodes.
• Demonstrableexperienceofcorecompetencefor Senior Engineerlevelinatleastoneareaforoffshorestructures (Oil& Gas and/or Offshore Wind)

• Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

• Abilitytohandlemultiplefast-pacedrequests,balancingtheneedforhighqualitywiththeneedtomeettimeandcost constraints.

• Well-organisedandmethodicalapproachtoprojectwork.
• Experienceworkinginaccordancewithstructuralengineeringdesigncodesandstandards,withtheabilitytodeveloprobustsolutionsfromfirstprinciplesbasedona strongtheoreticalunderstanding.
