Our client is a major UK North Sea operator currently undertaking the early-stage planning of a significant offshore decommissioning programme. As part of a rigorous and transparent planning process, they are actively evaluating the most appropriate decommissioning arrangements for their offshore installation and associated infrastructure.
To support this important phase of work, we are seeking an experienced Principal Process Engineer to play a key role in the feasibility, conceptual and study stages of the project.
Below is a summary of scope we would be looking for the successful candidate to manage (not exhaustive):
- Utilities mods required post switch over to temporary power;
- checking of Client produced technical notes for;
- Temporary Seawater lift Pump,
- Temporary Cooling Medium Pump,
- Hot Water Boiler scopes.
- Working with client Electrical TA/ Lead on temporary power requirements for asset EDC duration.
- Checking any documents / procedures generated by client.
- Procedures and HAZOPs for specific EDC scopes to be produced and led.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile decommissioning programme with a leading industry operator while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and review process engineering activities across decommissioning studies and projects.
- Support the identification, assessment and development of decommissioning options for offshore facilities and infrastructure.
- Deliver feasibility studies, conceptual engineering and early project phase evaluations.
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering deliverables and process documentation.
- Provide technical input into abandonment, topsides and subsea decommissioning.
- Office‑based at Client Office location
- Significant experience in Oil & Gas brownfield projects, decommissioning experience along with a strong Process Engineering background.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline;
Chartered Engineer or equivalent. - Strong knowledge of Process Engineering codes, practices, standards, and statutory documentation.
- Proven ability in technical competency.
- Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
