Design Draughtsperson

Position Summary

The Design Draughtsperson plays a crucial role in our engineering team, contributing to the creation of detailed design drawings and technical documentation using Solid Works and Vault. The primary objective is to support the product development process by transforming conceptual designs into accurate, comprehensive drafts. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless translation of ideas into practical and manufacturable solutions.

• Previous experience in a similar role is an asset.

• Proficient in Solid Works and Vault.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Knowledge of drafting standards and best practices (BS8888 etc.).

• Drafting and Modelling: Utilise Solid Works and Vault to create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings that adhere to industry standards and company guidelines.
• Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and specifications.
• Revision Control: Manage and update design files to reflect revisions and changes throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of own work to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in design software.
• Deadline Management: Prioritise and manage multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines.
