Would you like the opportunity to develop innovative subsea well intervention solutions that maximize offshore asset value? Are you passionate about delivering technically robust and commercially effective intervention strategies across the offshore lifecycle? Join our Oilfield Services Team

At Baker Hughes, we are transforming the future of energy through innovative technologies and services. Our Oilfield Services business provides integrated solutions that improve performance, enhance efficiency, and maximize asset value throughout the lifecycle of offshore operations. We partner with customers to solve complex challenges across drilling, production, intervention, and decommissioning activities.

Fuel your passion

As a Senior Subsea Well Intervention Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating subsea well intervention and well access solutions from concept development through execution planning. You will leverage your offshore operational experience and technical expertise to assess intervention feasibility, identify execution risks, and support the development of value-driven solutions for customers. Working closely with wells, subsea, marine, and commercial teams, you will help deliver intervention strategies that improve well performance, maintain asset integrity, and support decommissioning objectives.

As

a Senior Subsea Well Intervention Engineer, you will be:
  • Defining subsea well intervention and well access concepts across riser-based, riserless, light well intervention, well integrity, P&A, inspection, and maintenance scopes.
  • Assessing technical feasibility by evaluating operational envelopes, water depth, metocean conditions, subsea interfaces, tooling compatibility, vessel requirements, and equipment availability.
  • Applying knowledge of subsea trees, wellheads, intervention systems, controls, ROV tooling, vessel spreads, and P&A technologies to develop practical intervention solutions.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to identify wells, subsea, marine, facilities, logistics, HSE, regulatory, and commercial requirements during project development.
  • Reviewing technical and operational assumptions to ensure intervention concepts are executable and aligned with customer objectives.
  • Defining offshore execution strategies, operational constraints, SIMOPS considerations, weather impacts, logistics requirements, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Working with wells specialists and commercial teams to evaluate intervention alternatives, assess cost and schedule drivers, and recommend optimized solutions.
  • Supporting customer proposals and technical presentations by demonstrating intervention feasibility, execution confidence, and lifecycle value.
Essential Skills
  • Strong understanding of subsea well intervention and well access operations.
  • Knowledge of offshore execution planning, risk management, and intervention methodologies.
  • Experience with subsea production systems, ROV operations, intervention tooling, and vessel-based activities.
  • Ability to integrate technical, operational, and commercial considerations into practical solutions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Subsea, Marine, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Have significant experience in subsea well intervention, well access, offshore operations, P&A, or subsea lifecycle activities.
  • Have strong knowledge of subsea trees, wellheads, intervention systems, tooling interfaces, ROV operations, and offshore vessel operations.
  • Have experience supporting offshore projects from concept development and planning through execution and post-job evaluation.
  • Have the ability to assess and communicate techno-economic benefits of intervention solutions to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Have a strong understanding of offshore HSE requirements, regulatory compliance, logistics planning, and operational risk management.
  • Have experience working effectively across multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
