Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Aberdeen City

Are you looking to combine onshore and offshore working, but perhaps decrease the number of days you are working away and spend more time at home? Are you looking to progress more into an engineering office-based environment, with some hands-on workshop duties as required? If so, this may be the opportunity for you.

Our client is looking for a Technician who will predominantly be onshore based (both office & workshop), but with an expectation for around 30-60 ad hoc offshore days per annum. As such, the candidate must still be willing to go offshore from time to time when required. They must also come from a strong surface wellheads and well integrity / well intervention background in order to be considered.

Although the role will be first choice for offshore work within the team, it is predominantly office based and focused on engineering support activities such as procedure writing, job planning, and technical preparation. The role also includes workshop duties such as maintenance, servicing, repairs, pressure testing etc. of company equipment and tooling.

Key Responsibilities Operational / Field
  • Delivering company services safely and professionally on client assets and premises.
  • Diagnosing issues on client wellheads, trees and downhole and support development of practical solutions.
  • Deploying company products and tooling in line with procedures and job programmes.
  • Mobilising for onshore and offshore work in the UK and internationally.
  • Maintaining equipment on site and ensure a professional standard at all times.
  • Completing daily operational reporting and support permit and toolbox talk requirements.
  • Providing on site support and, where required, training to third?party personnel.
Technical / Office Support
  • Assisting with preparation of job procedures using client data and internal knowledge.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings (wellheads, valves, downhole).
  • Supporting preparation of technical documentation and presentations.
  • Contributing feedback from operations to support continuous improvement.
Person Specification Essential
  • Experience with wellheads, valves or well integrity operations.
  • Previous offshore experience and valid offshore certification.
  • Hands on technical or engineering background (oil & gas or related industry).
  • Willingness and ability to work onshore and offshore, including travel.
  • Strong safety awareness and disciplined approach to procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a small team.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
Desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Personal Attributes
  • Practical, reliable, and proactive.
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable in the field.
  • Professional attitude with clients and colleagues.
  • Keen to learn and develop technical capability.
