Subsea7 has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical / Hydraulic Technician to join our team at the Greenwell Workshop in Aberdeen. This full-time, permanent position will play a key role in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of ROV intervention tooling. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for preparing equipment for mobilisation, ensuring it is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Whatwill you be doing?
- Perform planned maintenance, inspection, and servicing of a diverse range of ROV intervention tooling, ensuring equipment is fully operational and ready to support offshore operations
- Play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality equipment by ensuring all tooling meets technical, project, and compliance requirements
- Apply your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and resolve equipment issues efficiently
- Manage tooling readiness by identifying, sourcing, and ordering critical spare parts, helping to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency
- Maintain accurate technical records, maintenance reports, and equipment logs through the workshop request and TM Master systems, supporting effective asset management
- Collaborate with workshop and administration teams to provide technical information required for SAP equipment updates and reporting
- Contribute to a team-focused workshop environment, working closely with colleagues to prepare and mobilise equipment for global offshore projects
- A recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles
- Practical mechanical and hydraulic experience, ideally with a broad range of ROV intervention tooling
- Working towards an HNC qualification would be an advantage, but is not essential
- Hydraulic Level I and/or Level II certification would be beneficial
- Previous experience within an ROV intervention tooling workshop or offshore environment is desirable, though candidates with transferable skills are also encouraged to apply
- Good IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office applications and digital maintenance systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
