Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in the Greater Aberdeen Area. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for downhole wireless tools and related systems, ensuring performance and reliability in harsh subsea and downhole conditions. Daily responsibilities include creating and updating CAD models and drawings, conducting mechanical analyses, supporting prototype builds, and participating in testing and validation activities.

The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in engineering, R&D, and operations to optimize designs for manufacturability, safety, and cost efficiency. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to project planning, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience in the design and analysis of mechanical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for modeling, drafting, and revision control.
  • Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including concept generation, prototyping, testing, and design iteration.
  • Ability to support Project Management activities, such as scheduling, task tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas or subsea equipment, pressure-containing components, and materials used in hostile environments is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, tolerance analysis, and basic finite element or stress analysis is an advantage.
  • Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
