- The Offshore Inspection Engineer (OIE) is responsible for in-service inspection and assessment of pressure systems within the offshore oil and gas industry. The role requires significant relevant industry experience and involves working on a regular 3/3 UK offshore rotation.
- The successful candidate will apply inspection engineering knowledge, NDT expertise, relevant industry standards, and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) principles while coordinating and prioritizing inspection activities offshore.
- Perform in-service inspection and assessment of pressure systems.
- Apply relevant standards applicable to oil and gas industry equipment and processes.
- Apply knowledge of NDT principles and Risk Based Inspection methodologies.
- Apply knowledge of degradation mechanisms relevant to oil and gas industry operations.
- Coordinate and prioritize inspection work effectively.
- Demonstrate effective leadership when carrying out inspection activities.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues through effective problem-solving.
- Prepare professional inspection reports and maintain effective documentation.
- Support compliance with quality, health, and safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with relevant personnel and stakeholders.
- Manage assigned activities effectively within required time frames.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Education & Professional
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in in-service inspection and assessment of pressure systems.
- UKAS RG2 Category 3 or above.
- Formal Plant Inspection qualification, such as ASME L2 or API 570 and API 510.
- IRATA Rope Access qualification.
- Offshore Survival Certification, Medical, and MIST.
- Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it is desirable.
NDT
Qualifications:
- PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).
- PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI).
Skills &

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Well-developed negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant oil and gas industry standards, equipment, and processes.
- Knowledge of NDT and Risk Based Inspection methodologies.
- Knowledge of degradation mechanisms relevant to the oil and gas industry.
- Competence in using computer packages, including Microsoft Office.
- Positive approach to quality, health, and safety compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong coordination and prioritization abilities.
- Good time management skills.
- Broad technical competency and related inspection skills.
- Proficient report-writing skills.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work on a regular 3/3 UK offshore rotation.
- Minimum five years of relevant in-service pressure systems inspection and assessment experience.
- Ability to meet the specified inspection, NDT, rope access, offshore, and professional qualification requirements.
