** Summary
* * The role is to provide technical support to projects within our Transportation business unit including Rail, Highways and Nuclear projects.  
** Day to day tasks will include*
* * Co-ordinate pre-construction environmental assessments (e.g. ecology surveys, archaeology surveys) and advise on the programming of works in relation to constraints observed
* Review, lead and management environmental documentation such as ESMP's and SWMP's.
* Ensure project compliance against Aureos procedures and client requirements.
* Manage reporting requirements for projects including population of Aureos and client decarbonisation and social value tools.
* Co-ordinate the acquisition of permits from environmental regulators (e.g. waste management licences).
* Undertake/support investigations for environmental incidents on site.
* Support delivery of project sustainability KPI's including Biodiversity Net Gain and Social Value targets.
* Undertake regular site inspections and audits of key environmental documentation
* Support delivery of business wide sustainability targets  
** Qualifications and Training
** To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:  
* An Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field, preferably a post graduate qualification, coupled with experience in a relevant industry (e.g. infrastructure, environmental / planning/ statutory body/ consultancy dealing with major consenting projects).
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* Member of Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) or similar professional body.
* Applicable PTS/CSCS Card  
** Knowledge*
* * A minimum of 3 years of experience in an environmental focussed role, preferably in the transportation or infrastructure sector.
* In-depth knowledge of UK wide environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. Experience in the rail or highways industry is desirable.
* Experience of social management and reporting is desirable.
* Proven experience in conducting environmental assessments and developing management plans to help discharge conditions of planning consents.

* * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.
* Communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Where projects are located in remote locations occasional overnight stays away from home may be necessary.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
* IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
