Joint Venture Accountant

Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment have been engaged by our oil and gas client to source a Joint Venture Accountant on a full time, staff basis. This role will be based in Aberdeen City Centre on a hybrid basis (three days office/two days home) with flexible working.

The main purpose of the role is accountability for the various aspects of JV accounting and cost control processes. The role will involve close interaction with the Operations team and the Operating Partners.

• Preparing the JV budgets and reforecasts
• Providing information to the Finance Manager and assisting with the internal annual budget and quarterly reforecast processes
• Preparing monthly JV billings and partner reports
• Acting as the focal point for JV partners and Operating partners
• Applying, developing and maintaining appropriate financial control processes and procedures
• Providing information to the Finance Manager and assisting in the preparation of the monthly management reporting pack
• Providing ad hoc financial information or analysis
• Preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for selected GL within set group legal entities
• Ensuring that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and HMRC
• Assisting in the annual statutory accounting process

• CA / ACA / ACCA qualification or relevant experience
• JV accounting experience
• Exposure to Oil & Gas Industry
• Self‑motivated and able to work efficiently unsupervised
• Attentive to detail and comfortable working across all finance processes
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Confident and effective communicator
