Position: KM235154 - Occupational Therapy Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Aberdeen City

NHS Grampian is looking to recruit a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Support Worker in the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, within Aberdeen City. We are looking for a motivated member of staff to join our established team.

This is an exciting post working with older adults (aged over 65) with both functional and organic mental illness. The post holder will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and qualified Occupational Therapists.

The role will entail supporting patients in one to one and group sessions in a variety of community settings - following guidance from the qualified Occupational Therapists.

Applicants must have good communication skills and have experience working within mental health and experience of working alongside Occupational Therapists or a good understanding of the role of an Occupational Therapist. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

A driving licence is essential for this post.

Flexible working, including evening and weekend work may be required to meet service demands.

Regular supervision and support will be provided as will the opportunity to self-develop through the use of Personal Development Plans and appraisal.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
