Overview
The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) at NHS Grampian has a vacancy for a Band 5 Trainee Renal Technologist. The post aims to train towards becoming a Specialist Renal Technician. This is a small team of 3 technicians who specialise in maintaining, repairing and managing a range of patient applied haemodialysis equipment and associated water treatment equipment used across the Grampian region.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain, repair and manage a range of patient applied haemodialysis equipment and related water treatment equipment.
Qualifications and ExperienceIdeally you will have experience in a technical environment and be able to clearly demonstrate post qualification technical training and experience in the support of a broad range of medical equipment. “On the job” and manufacturer specific training will be provided for this role.
Location and TravelThe base for the post-holder will be Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen. The post-holder will be expected to carry out duties across related Health Board sites and domiciliary settings as necessary. A driving licence is essential for the role.

Additional Information For Candidates As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so pay will not be affected.
