Sessional CommitmentsSenior commitments in NHS Ayrshire and Arran or NHS Lanarkshire.
RoleAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consultant in Neurology based within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with sessional commitments within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
The post offers an opportunity to work within a highly specialised regional Neurology service offering high quality patient care in line with ever evolving best practice.
The service adopts a multidisciplinary approach to care provision and the post holder will integrate with clinical nurse specialists, specialist AHPs and a team of specialised ward‑based neurology nursing colleagues.
Ideally the successful candidate will have a sub‑specialist interest in Headache or Epilepsy although all sub‑specialty interests will be considered.
This is a time of significant change in this service and the successful candidate will work with the Lead Clinician/Clinical Director, the Clinical Service Manager and colleagues in the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver and develop enhanced Neurology services for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and West of Scotland Board partners.
The team is committed to ongoing quality improvement of their service and we are keen to support candidates who are looking for the opportunity to develop/maintain areas of research interest. As a teaching hospital, an interest in teaching and training is also encouraged.
The post is offered on a full‑time basis as 10 PAs inclusive of DCC and SPA time. Prospective applicants are encouraged to make informal contact with the unit to discuss the role and requirements. An informal visit can also be arranged.
