Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) as a Medical Secretary. This post will be based at Links Unit, City Hospital, Aberdeen.
Responsibilities- Provide secretarial support to a group of 10–15 clinicians across the multi‑disciplinary service.
- Audio‑type and book appointments for the clinicians.
- Manage emails and phone calls, liaise with colleagues and external organisations.
- Produce accurate clinic letters using Dragon.
- Update patient records using Trakcare.
- Support the Liberty phone system and handle the high volume of phone calls received by the service.
- Cover reception as and when required.
- Essential secretarial experience.
- Good knowledge of NHS Patient Management Systems, e.g. Trakcare.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and confidence working with IT systems.
- Ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
- Self‑motivated and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm to provide cover during the CAMHS core hours.

Additional Information for CandidatesFrom 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
