An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, compassionate and experienced midwife to join our maternity team as a Screening Support Midwife. Working closely with the Specialist Pregnancy Screening Midwife, you will support the delivery of high-quality antenatal screening services in line with the Scottish Pregnancy Screening Programme pathways.
The successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of the pregnancy screening pathway, supporting women and families to make informed choices regarding screening and diagnostic testing. The role includes providing information and emotional support, coordinating care, attending diagnostic procedures, working collaboratively with fetal medicine and multidisciplinary teams, and supporting service delivery, audit, and quality improvement activities.
We are seeking a registered midwife with at least one year post registration experience, ideally involving caring for women in the antenatal period. They should have excellent communication and organisational skills, a compassionate approach to care, and a commitment to delivering safe, person-centred services. The ability to support women and families through complex and sensitive situations is essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in antenatal and newborn screening while contributing to the ongoing improvement of maternity services across NHS Grampian.
Interviews are planned for the 23rd of September 2026.
