We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support our Scotland operations in a fast-paced, operational environment. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of complex people matters and work closely with managers to provide practical business focused HR support. This role would suit someone who is confident managing their own caseload, able to balance competing priorities, and experienced in handling sensitive, high-volume employee relations activity, working within a supportive and collaborative HR team.
Main Responsibilities Provide HR support across the business, providing expert, practical guidance on a wide range of people issues
Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance and absence cases, ensuring timely and consistent outcomes
Lead on sickness absence management, including case reviews, occupational health referrals and return-to-work planning
Lead and support managers with maternity, family leave and flexible working processes, ensuring compliance with policy, high-quality documentation, and appropriate stakeholder communication
Provide clear, commercially focused advice to managers, challenging and coaching where appropriate to support effective decision-making
Maintain accurate and comprehensive case documentation, ensuring audit-ready records and adherence to policy and employment legislation
Identify trends in employee relations, providing insight and recommendations to support proactive interventions
Work closely with HR Business Partners, sharing insight and supporting a consistent approach to people matters
Ensure effective coordination with HR Shared Services on all employee lifecycle changes, maintaining accuracy and compliance
Support delivery of key HR initiatives including compensation reviews, organisational changes, and continuous improvement activity
Experience & Qualifications Strong generalist HR experience, ideally within a fast-paced, operational environment
Proven experience of independently managing complex employee relations cases
Solid understanding of UK employment law and its practical applicationCIPD qualified (or working towards)
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
Comfortable working in a high-volume, reactive environment
Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications and Access Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Ability to establish and develop excellent client relationships (internal and external) to promote trust and confidence
