Deep Ocean is expanding the team and looking for a team-oriented and experienced Senior Sub-contract Specialist with a can-do attitude who wants to join a fast-paced, professional and collaborative environment!
Role PurposeTo develop and facilitate Deep Ocean's subcontracting and procurement activities across tenders and projects, ensuring commercial risk is effectively managed, value is maximised and project delivery requirements are met through the strategic engagement of suppliers and subcontractors.
Role Description- Conduct procurement and subcontracting activities in accordance with governing procedures and processes. Develop and execute subcontracting and procurement strategies and plans throughout both tender and project phases, ensuring commercial, operational and project objectives are achieved.
- Lead and coordinate pre- and post-award subcontract awards activities including RFQ/ITT preparation, bid evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiations, contract award, supplier management and contract review. Ensure Deep Ocean standard terms and conditions and applicable client flow-down obligations are effectively incorporated into subcontract agreements to minimise commercial risk.
- Lead supplier qualification and due diligence activities for new and existing suppliers, including financial, operational, compliance and capability assessments where required. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to support project delivery, continuity of supply and long-term value creation.
- Support the negotiation, implementation and management of framework agreements, supply agreements and strategic subcontract arrangements.
- Actively collaborate with HSEQ department to conduct supplier audits as necessary in the projects.
- Liaise with project team to ensure supplier performance assessments are conducted and lessons learned are addressed internally in terms of supplier performance, issues etc. Actively engage in continuous improvements of processes and procedures.
- Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks associated with subcontractor engagement and supply chain activities.
- Act as mentor and provide guidance for new and existing team members.

- As part of the governance of the Company, employees are required to promptly inform their Line Manager of any significant matters regarding departmental or company performance.
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant Procurement or Contracting experience in multi-project, engineering environment, preferable within Subsea industry.
- Experience and knowledge from the Renewables and/or Oil & Gas industry Further education in Supply Chain Management, Finance or Engineering Legal / Contractual awareness and experience
- Strong contract management and negotiation skills
