Cammach is currently recruiting an Operations Coordinator on behalf of our Aberdeen based client, a well-established engineering company who deliver innovative technical solutions to support complex operations in challenging environments. The position is offered on a staff basis and offers excellent career progression opportunities in this expanding company.

ROLE

The primary objective of the Operations Coordinator is to arrange equipment and personnel logistics across the Company, working closely with freight agents to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods and people. This role involves supporting the Production Manager and Project Buyer with procurement activities, making effective use of the ERP platform, and taking responsibility and accountability for the stores room, inventory control, and goods in / goods out processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Logistics Coordination: Arrange equipment and personnel logistics across the Company, ensuring resources are in the right place at the right time to support operational and project requirements
  • Freight & Logistics: Work closely with freight agents to coordinate shipments, bookings, and customs documentation, ensuring equipment and personnel movements are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective, compliant and cost-effective
  • Procurement Support:
    Assist the Production Manager and Project Buyer with procurement activities, including raising orders, liaising with suppliers, and tracking deliveries to support production schedules
    • ERP & Systems Management:
    Efficiently utilise the ERP platform to process orders, update stock records, and maintain accurate, real time data across the business
  • Inventory Control: Hold responsibility and accountability for the stores room and inventory control, maintaining accurate stock levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring the area is organised, safe, and compliant
  • Goods In / Goods Out:
    Manage the goods in and goods out process, checking deliveries against orders, booking in stock accurately, and ensuring outgoing shipments are correctly packed, documented, and dispatched on time
  • Travel & Accommodation: Arrange travel and accommodation for Company personnel, including flights, transport, and lodging, ensuring arrangements are timely, cost-effective, and aligned with project and mobilisation schedules
  • Administrative Support: Provide administration duties to support the Management team, including preparing correspondence and documentation, maintaining records, and assisting with general office administration as required

REQUIREMENTS

Competencies

  • Organisation & Planning:
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate multiple logistics, personnel, and procurement activities simultaneously
  • Problem-Solving:
    Sound practical problem-solving skills to resolve logistics, freight, and supply issues quickly and effectively
  • Communication:
    Good communication skills to liaise effectively with freight agents, suppliers, the Production Manager, Project Buyer, and colleagues across the Company
  • Attention to Detail:
    High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock records, procurement documentation, and goods in / goods out processes

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Experience:

    Some experience in a logistics, coordination, procurement, or stores/inventory role, or a related administrative or operational discipline
  • Systems

    Skills:

    Competent user of ERP systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • Education:

    Relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related discipline (e.g. NC/HNC or equivalent), or demonstrable relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience:

    Previous experience within an engineering, subsea, or manufacturing environment, including working with freight forwarders and coordinating personnel or equipment mobilisations
  • Certifications:

    Recognized qualification or certification in logistics, supply chain management, purchasing, or a related discipline (e.g. CIPS, CILT)
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Familiarity with subsea equipment, ROV systems, freight/shipping regulations, and Incoterms
  • Career Development:
    Demonstrated interest in progressing towards an Operations Manager or Supply Chain role, with a proactive, organised, and safety-conscious approach to work
