General Assistant

Working as part of our Operations team within the LM2500 Business, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop and site. This hands-on role involves materials handling, logistics, housekeeping and general operational support, helping to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

An overview of your day

• Keeping the workshop, stores and yard areas clean, organised and safe.
• Loading and unloading deliveries and supporting goods movements across site.
• Moving parts, modules and engines between facilities and work areas.
• Carrying out packing, preservation and shipping activities for customer components.
• Supporting collections and deliveries to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assisting with minor maintenance and general operational tasks.
• Planning and prioritising daily activities to support departmental requirements.
• Working closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, efficient and productive workplace.
• Identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality and environmental performance.
• Supporting company continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma activities.

What we need from you

• Experience in a workshop, warehouse, logistics or operational support environment.
• A proactive and hands-on approach to work.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage workload and work independently when required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
• Forklift licence or materials handling experience would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Reliable, flexible and willing to support a variety of operational activities.
