Job Description Divisional Quality Manager - Environment & Safety

We are seeking to recruit a Divisional Quality Manager who will be responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and managing systems that provide effective reporting to the Divisional Management Team on key aspects of business performance, including:

  • Quality Management (ISO 9001, UKAS, and MCERTS), ensuring full compliance with SOCOTEC UK policies and all relevant ISO standards.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring the Division meets all applicable statutory requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving quality systems, driving compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the Division.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead and maintain the Division's Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, UKAS, MCERTS, and SOCOTEC UK requirements.
  • Drive quality assurance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives across the Division.
  • Monitor compliance through audits, training, performance reporting, and management reviews.
  • Manage quality documentation, reporting, and KPI monitoring to support business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with divisional and corporate stakeholders to promote best practice, customer focus, and a risk‑based approach to quality management.
  • Support the development and delivery of auditing frameworks, quality improvement projects, and lean methodologies.
  • Champion a positive health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
  • Foster collaboration and engagement across teams to support business performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

To be a successful Divisional Quality Manager, you should demonstrate:

  • Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent industry experience (desirable).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a relevant industry.
  • Previous experience in a quality‑focused role, ideally within an ISO 17025 accredited environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous; training can be provided.
  • Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
