Area Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Overall Purpose of the Job
Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure effective delivery of Competence Assurance activities across the assigned area. The role supports business objectives through the development and implementation of competency strategies, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
The area of responsibility may span multiple locations within a defined region or cover multiple product lines and business units, regardless of geographic location.
Key Activities and Accountabilities- Develop and implement a Competency Assurance Strategy aligned to short- and long-term business objectives
- Lead the delivery of Training & Competency plans to support operational and organisational needs
- Ensure the effective utilisation of resources, monitoring performance against agreed plans
- Track and report budget performance, highlighting any significant internal or external impacts
- Lead, manage and develop a team of technical trainers and competency specialists, ensuring high standards of service delivery
- Oversee the training needs analysis process, using data to prioritise training requirements (courses, locations, target groups) and evaluate training effectiveness
- Manage and promote the Expro Competency Programme, acting as a champion to drive engagement and understanding across the business
- Recommend and implement cost-effective training and competency solutions that improve business performance
- Conduct regular visits to facilities and bases to build stakeholder relationships and monitor customer satisfaction
- Deliver presentations and training sessions on competency assurance topics where required
- Collaborate with Group Competency Assurance on projects and initiatives
- Liaise with external industry and competency bodies as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or professional qualification (or equivalent experience gained through progression in Competency Assurance roles)
- Significant experience within Operational and/or Competency Assurance environments
- Proven management and leadership experience
- Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to direct reports
- Support the development and execution of Employee Development Plans
- Ensure competency frameworks are effectively used to develop and assess employees
- Conduct competency assessments where required
