The University of Aberdeen is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to join us as Director of Strategy, Planning & Data Insights. This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of the University, offering the opportunity to shape institutional strategy, drive organisational performance, and lead the delivery of significant transformational change as we continue to realise the ambitions of our Aberdeen 2040 strategic plan.

Reporting to the Chief Governance Officer & University Secretary, you will provide strategic leadership for the development and embedding of an integrated institutional framework and approach to strategic planning, data analysis and insight, and the delivery of significant projects and change initiatives. Working closely with senior University leaders, you will ensure that evidence, insight and effective governance underpin decision making and support the achievement of the University’s long-term ambitions.

We are seeking a highly credible leader with a broad understanding of the higher education sector and a track record of developing and implementing strategic frameworks, leading organisational change, and delivering measurable outcomes within a large and complex environment. You will be an exceptional communicator, capable of influencing at the highest levels.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead talented multidisciplinary teams, champion innovation in the use of data and business intelligence and strengthen the University’s capability in strategic planning, risk management and transformational change. You will play a key role in shaping the University’s future direction, ensuring it is well positioned to achieve its strategic ambitions and respond effectively to emerging opportunities and challenges.

The salary for this post is in the range of £74,174 - £91,875 per annum, commensurate with experience. The candidate appointed to this post is expected to be based in the Northeast of Scotland but may be eligible for homeworking on an occasional or regular basis. In recognition of the seniority and importance of this role, you will normally be expected to work on campus four days per week, with a minimum requirement of three days per week.

Should you require a visa to undertake employment in the UK you will be required to fulfilthe minimum points criteria to be granted a Certificate of Sponsorship under the requirements of the Skilled Worker visa. At the time an offer of appointment is made, youwill be asked to demonstrate that you fulfil the criteria in respect of qualification and competency in English.
