Job Overview
The Infection Unit is looking for a hardworking, dynamic, proactive, and friendly nurse to join their senior nursing team in the Band 6 role. Ward 111 consists of 26 beds looking after patients with both acute and chronic infections.
Work PatternThe post is rotational, working a 12‑hour shift pattern on a day/night shift basis, although the shifts will be predominantly day shift. The hours of work are 37 hours per week.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for supporting the Senior Charge Nurse (SCN) with the leadership and management of the ward on a day‑to‑day basis. The candidate will deputise for the SCN as required. You will demonstrate excellent leadership, confident communication, and effective organisational skills. Evidence of personal development will be expected with a willingness to contribute to education and audit.
QualificationsPrevious Infection Unit / General Medicine or Band 6 experience is beneficial although not essential.

Additional Information for CandidatesAs from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
