Band 5 Staff Nurse - Outpatients Department
Position details: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday on a rota basis, 7:30am-8:00pm shifts. Permanent contract. Salary £38,950 - £49,172. The role involves supporting consultant‑led outpatient clinics, delivering patient assessments, wound care, minor procedures, clinic coordination and day‑to‑day running across multiple specialties.
ResponsibilitiesKey duties include:
- Support consultant‑led outpatient clinics to help deliver a positive patient experience
- Coordinate patient flow to help clinics run smoothly and efficiently
- Deliver high quality patient‑centred nursing care across multiple specialties
- Support with wound care, dressings and minor procedures
- Work closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective care
- Carry out patient assessments, observations and clinical documentation
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, dignity and confidentiality
- Participate in training and ongoing professional development

Our Outpatients Department manages a high volume of specialist clinics and patient pathways across a broad range of services including gynaecology, ENT, urology, dermatology, neurology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, rheumatology and neuro/spinal, and more.
About YouWe are looking for a Registered Nurse who holds current NMC registration and can apply evidence‑based knowledge and practical skills to deliver safe, effective, high‑quality care in a busy, fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication, organisational and proactive patient‑focused skills are required. Prior outpatient experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
