Aberdeen Health Village’s Walk In Service, part of the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to support our urgent care provision.
OverviewThe role involves delivering advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral for patients across all ages presenting with undifferentiated illness, minor and major injury, and urgent medical conditions. The ANP will work closely with GP colleagues, the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care. You will exercise a high level of clinical autonomy within NHS Grampian policy, evidence‑based practice and professional guidelines, and contribute to service development, audit, education and clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and referral for a broad range of urgent care presentations.
- Work collaboratively with GP colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, safe and person‑centred care.
- Exercise clinical autonomy and apply evidence‑based practice and NHS Grampian policies.
- Contribute to service development, audit, education and clinical leadership within the Walk In Service.
- Participate in cover arrangements, including evening, weekend and on‑call duties.
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
- Degree level education with Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or evidence of Master’s‑level practice.
- Independent prescribing and advanced clinical assessment skills.
- Experience working in urgent care, primary care, minor injury or equivalent settings.
0.5 WTE – 18.5 hours per week. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Fixed term contract (12 months) with salary at Band 7 (Agenda for Change) and enhancements for unsocial hours.
