Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated School Nurse Team Lead to provide operational, professional and clinical leadership for the School Nursing Service. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of School Nursing and play a key role in delivering safe, effective and high-quality services for children, young people and families across Aberdeen City.

As School Nurse Team Lead, you will lead a team of School Nurses, Community Staff Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers and trainees, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care. You will provide leadership in safeguarding, clinical governance, workforce development and service improvement, working closely with colleagues across Health, Education, Social Work and wider partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people.

This post has been created as part of the transformation of Health Visiting and School Nursing services and offers a unique opportunity to influence the future direction of School Nursing within NHS Grampian. The role will provide dedicated leadership for the School Nursing Team, supporting the delivery of consistent pathways, effective caseload management, robust governance and a positive team culture.

What you’ll do
  • Provide operational and professional leadership to the School Nursing Team.
  • Lead workforce planning, caseload oversight and day-to-day service delivery.
  • Support staff through supervision, appraisal, professional development and reflective practice.
  • Provide leadership and advice in complex safeguarding situations.
  • Lead quality improvement, clinical governance, complaints and adverse event management.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Promote innovation, learning and continuous improvement across the service.
