Support Coordinator (Armed Forces)
Victim Support Scotland (VSS) provides support and information to people affected by crime and campaigns for victim and witness rights. This role focuses on supporting people from Armed Forces communities who are affected by domestic abuse.
Key Details- Contract:
14 hours per week permanent + 21 hours per week tailored to a 2‑Year Fixed‑Term contract. - Salary: £27,598 – £36,445 per annum (starting at the lower band).
- Working hours:
Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturdays 10am – 4pm. - Location:
The Quadrant, Poynernook Road, Aberdeen (covering the north‑east of Scotland). - Reporting to:
Locality Manager.
- Implement VSS’s local service development and delivery plan within the geographical area.
- Plan and deploy volunteer teams to ensure service outcomes meet the needs of victims, witnesses and service users.
- Recruit, induct, provide learning and development, manage performance and support volunteers.
- Contribute to business planning and coordination; monitor and report on service outcomes.
- Use data gathering and analysis to shape decisions and improve service delivery.
- Deliver tailored, one‑to‑one support for Armed Forces communities affected by domestic abuse, partnering with Scottish Women’s Aid.
- Maintain fairness, inclusion and challenge discrimination, bias or stereotyping when observed.
- Travel across the north‑east of Scotland as required and maintain a clean driving licence with access to a vehicle.
- Experience in a similar support coordination or volunteer management role.
- Demonstrated leadership that motivates, builds trust and drives performance.
- Knowledge of voluntary and charitable sector best practices.
- Committed to professional development and able to work flexible hours.
- Co‑ordination and analytical skills in data gathering and presenting insights.
- Ability to work fairly and inclusively, challenging discrimination.
- Willingness to travel and possess a full, clean driving licence.
- Satisfactory PVG (police vetting) check.
