CAMHS Nurse - Band 6

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) – Links Unit, City Hospital, Aberdeen

Join our inclusive, values-based multidisciplinary CAMHS team as an RMN/RNLD/RNCYP qualified nurse. You will have clinical responsibility for your own caseload within the CAMHS delivery model and the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) to improve access to psychological therapies for children and young people. The role spans core CAMHS, Enhanced Care, and Intellectual Disabilities teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care and assessment for a caseload of children and young people.
  • Collaborate with nursing, clinical, psychotherapeutic, and allied health professionals to deliver patient‑centred care.
  • Operate within the CAPA framework to support service improvement and access to therapy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and reflective practice.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Qualified as an RMN, RNLD, or RNCYP.
  • Experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential; full training and supervision are provided.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing service needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including CPD programmes and the NES one‑year CAMHS Development Programme.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
