Due to service requirements only female applicants will be considered for this role.
We are looking for people who genuinely care.
Working in social care is more than a job. The people we support rely on our staff to be consistent, respectful, reliable and committed to doing things properly.
We are looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference and who take pride in providing high-quality support.
You will be expected to:
- Treat every person with dignity, respect and kindness.
- Take the time to understand the individual, rather than simply completing tasks.
- Follow support plans, risk assessments, policies and agreed ways of working.
- Take responsibility for your actions and be accountable for the support you provide.
- Complete records accurately and understand that good recording is an important part of safe care.
- Speak up when something is not right and ask for help when you need it.
- Be willing to learn, accept feedback and continually develop your practice.
- Work reliably and contribute positively to your team.
- Maintain professional standards, even when working without direct supervision.
- Put the needs, rights, choices and wellbeing of the people we support at the heart of what you do.
We don't expect you to know everything when you start. We do expect you to care, to be willing to learn, and to take responsibility for doing your job well.
If you are looking for a role where you can simply complete your shift and go home, this may not be the right role for you. If you want to build positive relationships, support people to have good lives and be part of a team that takes pride in the quality of its work, we would like to hear from you.
About our supported living services
Our supported living services support adults with learning disabilities to live in their own homes, with individualised support that enables them to live safely, independently and in the way they choose.
At Archway, we believe good support is about more than completing tasks. It is about getting to know the person, understanding what matters to them, respecting their choices and helping them to live a good life.
About the role
As a Night Support Worker, you will have an important role in ensuring the people we support are safe, comfortable and well supported throughout the night.
You will work as part of a team but will also need to be confident working independently, using your initiative and taking responsibility for the decisions you make during your shift.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing personal care and support with daily living.
- Administering medication in line with training, individual support plans and Archway procedures.
- Supporting people when they require assistance during the night.
- Maintaining people's dignity, privacy, choice and independence.
- Carrying out appropriate checks and observations.
- Responding appropriately to changes in an individual’s needs or presentation.
- Completing household tasks that contribute to a safe, clean and comfortable home.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Communicating important information to colleagues.
- Following support plans, risk assessments, policies and agreed ways of working.
- Raising concerns and seeking advice or assistance when required.
Working overnight does not mean that standards can be lower or that responsibilities can be put aside.
The people we support rely on our staff to be reliable, attentive, respectful and committed to doing the job properly.
We do not expect you to know everything when you start. We will support you to develop your knowledge and skills. What we do expect is the…
