At Mac Gregor Industrial Supplies, delivering great service starts long before a product reaches the customer. We're looking for a Driver & Warehouse Operative to join our Kirkwall team and play a key role in keeping stock moving, supporting the branch and delivering excellent service to our customers.
This is a genuinely multi-skilled role where no two days are the same. One day you could be making customer deliveries, the next unloading stock, replenishing shelves, supporting the warehouse team or helping customers in the branch.

The RoleAs a Driver & Warehouse Operative you'll support the day-to-day operation of the branch, warehouse and delivery service, helping ensure customers receive the products they need, when they need them.
Responsibilities- Delivering products safely and professionally to customers across Orkney
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Receiving, checking and putting away deliveries
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders
- Replenishing stock throughout the showroom, warehouse and storage areas
- Assisting with stock counts and maintaining stock accuracy
- Supporting the warehouse team with goods in, goods out and general warehouse duties
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Providing excellent customer service during deliveries and branch interactions
- Supporting colleagues across different areas of the branch when required
- Following all health and safety procedures and company policies
We're looking for someone who is dependable, flexible and willing to get involved wherever support is needed.
You’ll ideally have:
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, delivery driving or logistics environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive and customer‑focused attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn new skills
- The ability to undertake manual handling activities safely
- Basic IT skills and confidence using handheld devices or business systems
- A forklift licence would be advantageous, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
