Ramp Agent - Aberdeen

Pertemps are currently recruiting for Ramp Agents to join a busy aviation operation on an ongoing temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in aviation, ramp handling, logistics or other fast-paced operational environments. Full training may be provided where appropriate, although previous ramp or aviation experience would be advantageous.

Pay

£14.69 per hour Working Hours Monday to Friday – Split Shift

  • 05:30 – 09:30
  • 16:30 – 20:30

About the Role

As a Ramp Agent, you will play an important role in ensuring the safe, accurate and timely movement of freight through the airport operation.

Working in a busy and time-critical environment, you will be responsible for supporting the loading and unloading of aircraft and vehicles, sorting and scanning freight, preparing operational documentation and ensuring procedures are followed at all times.

The role requires someone who is safety-conscious, reliable and able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sorting and scanning inbound and outbound freight.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, with manual handling involved.
  • Supporting the loading and unloading of aircraft where required.
  • Preparing load sheets, load plans and associated operational documentation.
  • Coordinating freight and container movements.
  • Liaising with handling agents, third-party suppliers and other operational teams.
  • Supporting aircraft turnaround activities, including fuelling and de-icing arrangements where required.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely operational communications.
  • Preparing flight-related documentation and reports.
  • Carrying out checks on dangerous goods where required.
  • Supporting the safe and efficient movement of freight throughout the operation.
  • Monitoring loading and unloading activities carried out by third-party handlers.
  • Entering and maintaining information across relevant operational systems.
  • Responding to queries by telephone and email.
  • Supporting Ramp, Sort and Warehouse operations as required.
  • Taking responsibility for operational activities when required.
  • Following all relevant operational, safety and security procedures.
About You
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
  • Comfortable working in a busy, time-critical environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Safety-conscious with excellent attention to detail.
  • A strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Customer-focused and professional in their approach.
  • Comfortable carrying out manual handling duties.
  • Confident using computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and third-party partners.
