Due to increased volumes, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Yard & Warehouse Foreman to join our Operations team in Aberdeen.
This is a hands on role with responsibility for overseeing the day to day running of our yard and warehouse operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of yard and warehouse operatives, allocating daily workloads and ensuring operational priorities are achieved. You will lead by example, working alongside the team when required while maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and productivity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the day to day operation of the yard and warehouse
- Supervising and coordinating yard and warehouse operatives
- Allocating workloads and ensuring operational requirements are completed efficiently
- Ensuring safe movement, loading, unloading and storage of goods and equipment
- Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures and company standards are followed at all times
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the yard and warehouse
- Carrying out operational duties and operating equipment when required
- Liaising with management and other operational teams to ensure the smooth running of the site
- Identifying and reporting any operational, safety or equipment issues
- Ensuring plant & equipment are regularly inspected and maintained. Identified repairs are carried out in line with company policies
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a yard, warehouse, logistics or similar operational environment, together with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
A full driving licence is essential for this role.
A J4 Telehandler Certificate and B1, B2 and/or B3 Forklift Certificates would be advantageous.
Previous supervisory or team leading experience would also be advantageous.
Hours of work: 40 hours per week. The working week will be rostered within the normal operating hours of the depot, Monday to Friday, 0700–1900.
Overtime and weekend working are essential requirements of the role.
