Food Bank Coordinator
Supervisor: Social Services Coordinator
Status: Regular Part-Time / Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Pay: $18.00 (Hourly)
Scope of PositionUnder the direction of the Center Coordinator, the Food Bank Coordinator oversees operations of the Food Bank, including recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers; purchasing, restocking, ordering, and preparing food; overseeing costs and quality control; coordinating food deliveries; and maintaining monthly statistics and reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Screen clients for emergency referrals as appropriate.
- Maintain the highest level of food program standards, including WA food health and safety standards, and compliance with grants and contracts.
- Maintain food inventory with FIFO standards.
- Place orders with vendors, purchase food and non‑food items, and procure and manage donated food.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment, coordination, training, and retention.
- Train, schedule, and provide daily oversight and coordination of volunteers.
- Ensure logs are maintained, service units recorded in the client database, and reports generated as needed.
- Pack food orders and stock shelves as needed.
- Implement food program policies and procedures.
- Assist with food pick‑up and deliveries.
- Ensure facility is cleaned daily and kept organized.
- Assist in maintaining maintenance and cleaning policies and procedures.
- Work flexible hours and overtime, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
- Support other program initiatives throughout the year.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist continuously.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files and file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone and computer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
- Ability to understand written information.
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 20 feet.
- Ability to operate hand trucks and pallet jacks.
- No use of substances that could affect health or safety.

- One year of experience supervising volunteers, working in nonprofit, customer service, food service, or food bank operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to pass driver safety test.
- Ability to attain and maintain Food Handler’s certificate.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and database software.
