Base location:
Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. Salary: £43,704 – £51,484 plus a range of benefits to support finances, wellbeing and family. Working pattern:
Permanent | Full Time | Site Based.
This role is based on site five days per week. As no company vehicle or car allowance is provided, candidates should be able to travel to site independently. Please note, a full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and from various work locations.
Responsibilities- Represent the SSEN Transmission business on site as a key point of contact, ensuring suppliers carry out works in accordance with contractual requirements and SSEN policies and procedures. Measure completed works against the works information for payment purposes and manage compensation events.
- Ensure the project is executed in accordance with relevant statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, quality & technical compliance, personnel and industrial relations.
- Work closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Act as a leader on site and champion a positive safety culture. Ensure site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation, and routine reports and KPIs are submitted to the Project Manager.
- Solid understanding of engineering and construction practices, including site safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
- Proven experience in site supervision or construction on complex infrastructure or utilities projects; experience in underground cabling works is an advantage.
- Knowledge of project planning, with experience in monitoring progress against plans and implementing inspection and test plans to ensure quality.
- Confidence using computer systems, particularly common software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to track site progress and issues, and effectively represent the project team internally and externally.
