HGV Class 1 Driver

We are seeking reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (Category CE) Drivers for high-volume temperature-controlled and multi-temperature logistics operations.

This role offers competitive hourly pay guaranteed shift hours and dependable long-term stability with temp-to-perm pathways for dedicated drivers.

Key Details & Responsibilities

• Hours: 45 50 hours per week (Day shifts evening runs and 4-on/4-off rotas available)

• Start Date: Immediate starts available following standard site induction

• Safe Transport: Reefer trailer trunking supermarket RDC deliveries and food distribution runs across Essex East Anglia London and national hubs

• Vehicle Checks: Conducting daily pre-trip walk-around safety inspections and monitoring trailer refrigeration temperatures

• Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to temperature integrity protocols EU Drivers Hours Working Time Directive (WTD) and digital tachograph rules

• Documentation: Accurate handling of temperature log sheets electronic delivery manifests and Proof of Delivery (POD) sign-offs

Working Hours: Typical shifts run 10 paid hours with regular overtime opportunities available.

Support: Dedicated transport coordinator and on-call planning team

Licence & Cards:
Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph card

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of Class 1 driving experience preferred (no major endorsements maximum 6 points) Professional Attitude:

Clear customer service skills for drop-offs and depot check-ins
