Job OverviewThe post-holder will provide clerical support to the Diabetes & Endocrinology department at Nevill Hall Hospital, as well as reception duties, for a fixed term of two years.
Responsibilities- Answer general queries and inquiries.
- Carry out administrative tasks for the department.
- Make, amend, and cancel appointments, handling straightforward queries.
- Update waiting list entries and manage patient appointments using the Myrddin Patient Administration System.
- Make telephone and patient calls to provide information.
- Maintain accurate records and data input.
- Use knowledge of clinic protocols and specialty standards.
- Essential:
Knowledge of administrative systems, admission, patient information systems, hospital departments, clerical/office procedures, and data input procedures acquired through on-the-job training. - Desirable:
Experience of working within an office environment.
- Essential:
Able to work under pressure remaining calm, diffuse difficult situations, excellent interpersonal skills, accurate data inputting, good telephone manner, ability to integrate within an existing team. - Desirable:
Customer service experience. - Desirable:
Ability to speak Welsh.
The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026, backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.
