Do you have a passion for working with young people and helping them make the most of their education?
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Support Mentor to join one of our partner secondary schools in the Abergavenny area.
As a Support Mentor
, you'll play a vital role in building strong, positive relationships with students-acting as a trusted guide and communicator to ensure they feel understood and supported. You'll work closely with pupils who need additional help to stay focused, engaged, and motivated in lessons. By being a positive role model, you'll help them overcome barriers to learning and develop the confidence to reach their full potential.
Some students may simply need extra encouragement to thrive in the classroom.
In this role, you'll provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and behavioural challenges. You'll work with students who may find traditional classroom settings difficult, offering consistent emotional and academic support throughout the school day.

RequirementsThe ideal candidate will also require the following: (We can help you obtain the below as part of the registration process)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Education Workforce Regulation registration (EWC)
- Aged 18 and over
- Level 2 as a minimum for Safeguarding for Children and vulnerable people
- 2 professional based references which cover a 24-month period (or equivalent)
What would the onboarding process look like?

- If happy to proceed, you will then be invited in for an interview
