HGV 7.5 Tonne Driver

Position Summary

A full‑time, permanent HGV 7.5‑tonne Driver position is available in Abergavenny, offering a salary of £525.00 per week with overtime paid at £14 per hour. The working pattern is a guaranteed 39 hours per week. The role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods for a logistics company handling full loads, pallet deliveries, and intermodal containers.

Unload, palletise and dispatch merchandise. Load and unload cargo safely and in compliance with all safety regulations. Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate delivery records, communicate with dispatchers and clients about schedules and delays, and provide excellent customer service during deliveries. Use hand‑held devices for job details and PODs.

• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety regulations.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.
• Use hand‑held device for job details and PODs.

• Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a focus on delivery driving.
• Familiarity with flatbed lorries is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• A valid commercial driving licence is required.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing delivery schedules effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.

• Tramping Multi‑drop Work normally 4 nights out a week. Paid nights out (£26 per night untaxed).
