Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week). Salary Band: 8a. Service:
Tier 4 CAMHS – Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Service.
We are inviting applications for a Highly Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our dynamic and compassionate multi-disciplinary team at NWAS, BCUHB’s Tier 4 Highly Specialist CAMHS Service working with the Kestrel Inpatient Ward and the Kite – Intensive Community Support Team in beautiful North Wales. This is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of a forward-thinking, evidence-based service that places families at the heart of recovery.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop the role and explore joint working with other highly Specialist Family & Systemic colleagues across North Wales where we have a thriving Community of Practice. Support is available from experienced professionals including the Consultant Nurse/Family & Systemic Psychotherapist and the Consultant Family & Systemic Psychotherapist. Please note that there is no requirement for an original registration eligible under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) for this post.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or KnowledgeEssential Criteria
- Relevant degree.
- A recognised postgraduate Family Therapy or equivalent qualification at Masters level or higher.
- UKCP registration as a family/systemic Psychotherapist.
- Highly developed knowledge of systemic theory and practice.
- Knowledge of research design and methodology as practised within the field of family therapy.
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management in relation to children.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the UKCP/AFT.
- Additional relevant academic and/or accredited therapeutic qualification.
- A professional qualification in a relevant regulated profession eligible under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 (e.g., Nursing, Social Work, Clinical Psychology).
Essential Criteria
- Substantial assessed experience of working as a registered family/systemic psychotherapist.
- Experience of implementing evidence-based family interventions.
