Are you ready to make a real difference in young lives? We are delighted to offer an exciting development opportunity for a Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our dynamic and compassionate multi-disciplinary team within BCUHB’s Tier 4 Highly Specialist CAMHS Service. You will work across both the Kestrel Inpatient Ward and Kite – Intensive Community Support Team.

This post is offered as a Band 7–8a progression role, providing the opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced practitioner to develop into a highly Specialist (Band 8a) Family & Systemic Psychotherapist role, supported by structured supervision, competency development, and service leadership opportunities.

Support is available from experienced professionals including the Consultant Nurse/Family & Systemic Psychotherapist and Consultant Family & Systemic Psychotherapist, alongside a thriving North Wales Family & Systemic Community of Practice.

Please note there is no requirement for registration under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) for this post.

About The Development Pathway

• Deliver systemic interventions under supervision
• Build experience within inpatient and intensive community settings
• Work towards defined competencies required for progression

Progression to Band 8a will be supported through:

• Demonstration of advanced clinical skills and autonomy
• Leadership and supervisory capability
• Contribution to service development and systemic practice across CAMHS

We welcome applications from individuals at different stages of their development:

• Qualified (or nearing qualification) in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy
• Experience working with children, young people, or families
• Commitment to developing specialist skills within a Tier 4 setting

• Qualified Family & Systemic Psychotherapist with relevant registration
• Experience working with complex presentations in intensive settings
• Ability to provide supervision, consultation, and leadership

• Flexible, resilient, and reflective
• Comfortable working in emotionally demanding environments
• Passionate about multi-agency and systemic working
