Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse – Kestrel Ward, North Wales Adolescent ServiceAre you a compassionate and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) who is passionate about supporting young people aged 12–17 years? Whether your experience comes from CAMHS or another setting working with young people, we welcome your transferable skills and will support your development into specialist adolescent care.
What you’ll be doing- Acting as Case Manager for a small group of young people, coordinating high ‑ quality, individualised care.
- Working closely within a supportive Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
- Contributing to a safe, therapeutic, and developmentally supportive ward environment.
- Supporting effective transition and discharge planning.
- Providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior colleagues and students.
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD).
- Genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible, compassionate, and adaptable.
- Experience in CAMHS or other relevant areas involving mental health or young people (no prior inpatient CAMHS experience required).
- Full ‑ time equivalent post.
- Kestrel Ward operates 24/7, so flexibility across shift patterns, including nights, is essential.

- Must be first level registered Mental Health Nurse
- Post registration qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Experience of working in in-patient Adolescent Mental Health Work
- Evidence of continuing professional development relating to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Nursing
- Evidence of working in Adolescent Mental Health Services (eg community services)
- Ability to generate effective therapeutic relationships with young people (patients)
