Overview
We seek to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join an enthusiastic and dedicated Additional Needs Department working with students who access the Hearing Resource Centre (HRC). The unit provides support for students with hearing impairments. The post will vary depending on the needs of the student. The successful candidate will be involved in in‑class support and provide support within the HRC for pre and post tutoring.
The role requires a willingness to develop skills to communicate using British Sign Language.
Use your own initiative to ensure students can access the curriculum and are making good progress. Support students in a busy environment, providing individualized assistance and fostering their potential.
Qualifications and Requirements- Willingness to develop skills in British Sign Language
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to support student learning
- Enhanced DBS check required; prior convictions will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis
