Finance Manager

Up to £80,000 per annum (depending on skills and abilities)

Permanent role onsite

Commutable from Wrexham, Chester, Buckley, Deeside, Connah's Quay

Working hours: M-F 8am
-4pm

The role

Our client is looking for a hands‑on, commercially‑minded Finance Manager to take ownership of finance operations across multiple UK entities within a fast‑paced aerospace services business. This is a senior, high‑visibility role where you'll work closely with site leadership and international stakeholders, shaping financial strategy, improving operational performance, and ensuring strong governance across a £20m+ UK operation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with operational teams.
  • Own the month‑end close and UK reporting into Group systems.
  • Be the key UK finance contact for Head Office.
  • Oversee payroll, cash flow forecasting, and day‑to‑day banking.
  • Manage VAT, tax compliance, statutory accounts, and audits.
  • Act as local lead for SAP finance systems.
  • Drive process improvements and stronger financial controls.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team.
Candidate requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong background in audit or financial control (Big Four experience a plus).
  • Confident operating in a fast‑moving, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • SAP finance systems knowledge.
  • Previous team leadership experience.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and ad‑hoc internationally.
  • Payroll and/or ADP experience (desirable).
