Overview

Join Ceredigion Council's friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking Occupational Therapy service during an exciting period of restructuring! We are seeking two passionate OTs to make a real difference within our innovative through-age community team.

In this varied role, you will autonomously manage a complex caseload, specialising in major adaptations, manual handling, and specialist seating. This is your chance to share your skills, develop expertise in paediatrics, and support junior staff, all while helping shape a modernised service.

Main duties of the job

You will autonomously manage a complex community caseload, conducting assessments in people s own homes. Your core duties will focus on complex case management, requiring specialist skills in conducting manual handling and postural assessments. A key part of your role will be the prescription of equipment and the planning of major adaptations, such as stairlifts and level-access showers. You will also play a vital role in supervising and supporting the development of junior OTs and OTAs within our through-age service model.

Complex case management for individuals with long-term and chronic conditions.

Manual handling assessment and provision of associated plans.

Postural assessment and provision of specialist seating and wheelchair prescription.

Comprehensive knowledge of complex manual handling equipment and disability aids.

Proven ability in assessing, recommending, and planning for urgent minor and complex major environmental adaptations (e.g., stairlifts, hoist systems, bathing facilities).

Experience in the supervision and support of junior OTs and OTAs.

Proven ability to carry a complex community caseload autonomously.

Excellent clinical recording and organisation skills.
