Welcome to Bronglais Hospital. We have exciting new opportunities to work within an established 14 bed Elective Surgical/ orthopaedic/gynaecology /breast ward & a 3 bed Enhanced Care Unit, for Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurses. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic and forward-thinking. They will be motivated with excellent communication and leadership skills who will be able to support the Senior Sister and Multidisciplinary team in providing patient centred, high standards of care, and efficient safe management of patients.
The successful candidate must have experience in post operative care and a post graduate critical care qualification is desirable. They will need to be confident in leading the team in the absence of the Senior Sister and be involved in providing an environment where junior team members are supported to develop.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and knowledge- Current NMC Registration
- Pertinent postgraduate diploma (or equivalent development / experience and a willingness to undertake appropriate post graduate diploma level study
- Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
- Recognised management qualification
- Appropriate experience within specialty and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant specialty
- Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of NMC Code (2015)
- Experience of working in a multi professional environment
- Experience of running a ward/area/department
- Experience of working with pre registration nursing / midwifery students
- Experience of formal /informal teaching and of mentoring pre registration nursing or midwifery students.
- Understanding of wider nursing and health care related agenda
- Supervisory management skills
- Able to relate theory into practice through reflective skills
- Experience of coordinating a team
- Experience of facilitating learning in and from practice
- Previous experience of leadership and management
- Awareness of current issues in nursing and specialty
- Awareness of financial and resource management
