BANK Domestic Assistant

We are looking for a self‑motivated individual who will work as part of a team and on their own. The successful candidate will play an active role within the support team.

• Undertake routine or emergency/unplanned cleaning tasks in inpatient, outpatient and department areas
• Follow cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
• Use a variety of cleaning equipment
• Work up to 12‑hour shifts, covering 07:00 to 24:00 on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays
• Receive a full induction and an extensive on‑the‑job training programme covering all aspects of the service

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and provide primary, community, in‑hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services. We work in partnership with local authorities, public, private and third sector colleagues, and a valued team of volunteers.

• Literacy, numeracy and comprehension skills
• Basic health and safety, COSHH, moving and handling and food hygiene knowledge, or willingness to learn through on‑the‑job training
• Health and safety, COSHH, moving and handling training

• Can work flexibly as required
• Welsh speaker (Level
  1) or willingness to work towards it

• Experience of dealing with the general public

• Understand and follow routine instructions
• Work under pressure and respond to changing demands at short notice
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to work as a Domestic Assistant
• Prepared to work alone
• Prepared to handle blood and body fluids
• Use own initiative
• Work as part of a team
• Responsible for keys/security/alarms
