Location:
North Ceredigion, Wales (Aberystwyth and surrounding area)
Salary: £15,000–£17,500 (0.5 FTE) - equivalent to £30,000–£35,000 full-time, plus company pension, private healthcare, and funded CPD
Primary Care Dietitians (PCD) is looking for a Level 3 qualified, CIMSPA-registered movement professional to lead a new NHS-commissioned weight management programme across North Ceredigion, coordinating a small team of sessional coaches while delivering sessions yourself.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll triage referrals, assess new participants, coordinate a pool of sessional coaches, and deliver some sessions yourself. We take a compassionate, weight-neutral approach - no judgement, no quick fixes, just supportive, adaptable coaching that helps people build sustainable movement habits.
What you'll be doing:
- Triaging and assessing all referrals into the programme (including PAR-Q assessments)
- Coordinating a team of sessional coaches - scheduling, deploying, and supporting them across delivery locations
- Delivering some in-person and virtual group sessions yourself
- Identifying and booking optimal delivery venues based on referral data
- Conducting and maintaining risk assessments across all delivery locations
- Supporting one university placement student per year
- Collating participant feedback and outcomes data for reporting to commissioners
- Coordinating delivery of the self-funded programme continuation
What we're looking for:
- Level 3 Physical Activity qualification (essential)
- CIMSPA registration or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience delivering movement/exercise to adults living with obesity
- Confidence coordinating staff, timetables, and delivery logistics
- Experience conducting risk assessments and maintaining project data
- Welsh speaker (desirable, not essential)
- A friendly, non-judgemental, adaptable approach with strong communication skills
- Salary equivalent to £30,000–£35,000 full-time, pro-rated for 0.5 FTE
- 25 days' annual leave + bank holidays (rising to 31 days with service)
- Company pension with salary sacrifice option
- Funded mental health support (8 sessions/year)
- Weekly protected CPD and funded leadership development
- Clear progression into management roles
- Hybrid working and a supportive, close-knit leadership team
Some early mornings, evenings, and Saturday mornings will be needed to fit around participants' availability. This can be discussed flexibly at interview.
If you're an experienced movement professional ready to lead a compassionate, community-based programme, we'd love to hear from you.
