Role Summary

Reporting to the Data and Reporting Manager, the Feedback Coordinator will play a key role in the Data and Reporting team. The team is tasked with producing timely and accurate staff and student data to support strategic decision making and performance management across the University.

A key function of this role is the set‑up, organization and oversight of centrally managed student and graduate feedback surveys which are used to monitor performance and shape decision making.

A key driver for the team is to increase the accessibility and availability of data across the institution, including standardizing reporting, designing and maintaining meaningful data visualizations and working on projects to enhance data governance.

Role holders will primarily be responsible for work surrounding both internal and external surveys and external data submissions but will be expected to work across the full remit of the Data and Reporting team supporting other team members during busy periods.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and organize internal surveys and other feedback gathering mechanisms such as Student Experience Surveys with a focus on maximising high‑quality, actionable data.
  • Set up and organize external surveys and feedback opportunities such as NSS, What Uni, Graduate Outcomes etc.
  • Work with the Data and Reporting Manager, the Student’s Union and colleagues across the university to promote internal and external student surveys and opportunities to provide feedback.
  • Prepare and upload accurate population files required for external surveys.
  • Understand survey rules and technicalities, to be able to explain to others, including restrictions on ways of promoting.
  • Act as a first point of contact for enquiries about the student surveys and liaise with staff and students to explain the nature of and the rationale for the surveys.
  • Collate survey data responses, both quantitative and qualitative, into a usable format for further reporting and analysis by other members of the Strategic Planning department.
  • Coordinate information returns for league tables including QS world rankings, People and Planet, Complete University Guide, What Uni, and those published by national newspapers.
  • Extract and undertake basic analysis on a range of internal and external datasets covering the entire student lifecycle as well as staff data.
  • Support colleagues in the Strategic Planning team to provide accurate and timely information to aid academic and professional service departments, the Executive and Council of the University with decision‑making, planning, forecasting and driving institutional performance.
  • Support colleagues in the Data and Reporting team to produce statutory and regulatory returns.
  • Support the Data and Reporting Manager in working with colleagues across the university to enhance all aspects of data governance.
  • Comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR requirements in all working practices, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, availability, accuracy, currency and security of information as appropriate. Take personal responsibility for all personal data within own working environment.
