The City of Abilene, Kansas is accepting applications for the position of Municipal Court Administrator/Accreditation Specialist. Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, it is a non‑exempt position under FLSA, which performs the administrative functions of the Municipal Court, and the Kansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program for the Abilene Police Department. This employee must be flexible in order to cope with a variety of changing tasks on a daily basis.
A working knowledge of court and criminal procedures as well as knowledge in the Kansas Open Records Act as it pertains to municipal court and law enforcement is preferred. Municipal Court or Police Records experience is preferred. This position assumes responsibility of the Municipal Court computer software and hardware. This employee must have the ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong organizational, communication and public relation skills are required.

This is a full‑time position. Starting wage is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years of age, of good moral character, have a valid driver’s license, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a panel interview. Successful candidates must pass a thorough background investigation and pre‑employment testing and drug screening and must possess excellent communication and public relation skills as well as problem solving ability.
